Professor Jonathan Hassell,
Chief Executive

Jonathan is one of the top digital usability & accessibility thought leaders in the world. He has over 18 years’ experience in identifying new directions and challenges in digital accessibility, finding best practice process and technology solutions to these challenges, authoring international standards and presenting best practices to conference audiences across the world. He has just delivered the new International accessibility Standard ISO 30071-1, which is based on the British Accessibility Standards BS 8878 that he led in 2010.

He leads Hassell Inclusion’s team of accessibility experts providing strategic accessibility transformation services to organisations worldwide. He specialises in: training and consultancy to embed accessibility strategically within the software development lifecycle process, leadership of innovative digital projects to make inclusion easier and cheaper to implement, and creation of best-practice international web standards.

 

Graham Armfield

Graham Armfield,
Accessibility Manager

Graham has over 10 years experience in accessibility and is an experienced website developer and trainer of developers in web and mobile accessibility. With a background in development in large and small organisations, he upskills developers through our developer training, provides on-site embedded accessibility support to help teams avoid and fix accessibility issues, and provides demonstrations of accessibility tools and assistive technologies to enable everyone to understand the user experiences people with disabilities have with websites and mobile apps. He is also an active member of the Make WordPress Accessible team, working to improve levels of accessibility within the most popular web CMS in the world.

Jon Gooday,
Accessibility Manager

Jon has over 15 years’ experience in accessibility and usability, working for a wide range of multinational organisations across the mobile, finance and energy sectors. With a background in Psychology and Information systems, Jon is passionate about enabling everyone to use technology effectively in their day-to-day lives. He creates accessibility solutions that are practical, elegant and human centred. Jon explains accessibility in real-world terms that focus on finding the optimal balance between technology, business and customer needs. His main role at Hassell Inclusion is to provide engaging, interactive and tailored training that delivers practical real world knowledge that makes a difference.

 

Robert Wemyss,
Accessibility Manager

Rob has over 10 years experience in accessibility, working across the retail and financial industries as a strategic lead and accessibility specialist. He has experience designing, building, testing, managing and launching accessible web products and services, from simple websites to multi- million pound applications.

 

Yacoob Woozer

Yacoob Woozer,
Accessibility Manager

Yacoob has over 10 years experience of making accessibility real in both Government and corporate environments in accessibility and IT roles, backed with his Master’s degree in Digital Inclusion. He is passionate about all things inclusive and accessible especially as they relate to digital, with a particular interest in the accessibility of digital documents and content. He always looks to balance business and customer needs to ensure a practical, impactful and efficient way forwards.

 

Rosnah Hassell,
Strategy & Operations Director

Rosnah has over 20 years experience in strategy, governance and compliance in global organisations. Her experience includes working for a major charity for the disabled, and her particular interest is in inclusive education. She leads our business team who excel at providing the infrastructure and support that enables our consultants to deliver their expertise to our clients.

 

Val Benfield,
PA to the Chief Executive
& Office Manager

Val is a dynamic PA who has 18 years’ experience in a range of support functions of the secretarial area from multiple industries, her most significant work being carried out with Barclays Wealth and Honeywell Aerospace. She is not averse to being responsible for the more mundane aspects of being a PA and at the same time is well suited to handling all confidential and senior matters associated with the role.

 

Denise Mason,
HR, Learning & Development Advocate

Denise has extensive experience in blue-chip organisations in the UK and internationally in sectors such as IT and Consulting, Aviation, Pharmaceuticals, Supply Chain and FMCG. She managed large client-facing teams before moving into HR to support business transformation, recruitment, talent and succession planning, learning and development etc. She is be a true advocate of our values, which enables everyone to excel and collaborate, to delight customers and make Hassell inclusion a great place to work.

 

Kim Pearson,
Director of Finance

Kim Pearson brings almost 30 years of finance function experience in some of the largest organisations in the world to his role as Director of Finance at Hassell Inclusion, and to the leaders of other medium sized businesses with a commitment to growth and excellence that he supports through Green Caterpillar Consulting.
Kim believes that a finance function fit for purpose must evolve and develop to meet the needs of the organisation and support the CEO to achieve the vision for the company. At its heart, the finance function is about bring the right people to deliver the right processes supported by technology that matches the scale of ambition of the enterprise.
Kim qualified with Ernst Young (ACA) before working in industry for DHL, Exel plc and NatWest.

 

Kate Reading,
Marketing & Social Media Manager

Although a newbie to the world of Digital Inclusion Kate has spent over 17 years working at advertising agencies as a strategic planner for clients like Johnson & Johnson, Masterfoods and Muller. Working across diverse challenges, multiple markets, brands and audiences she connect brands with consumers. Passionate about hands on development from strategy, through to creative output, she now applies her skills as a marketing and social media manager at Hassell Inclusion.
